How I’m getting ahead of getting older
I’ve talked about aging before, but lately I’ve been really trying to get proactive. I feel great inside and out, but I want to make sure I do everything I can to prevent the signs of aging from showing up on my face.
I started out with their Spectra Carbon Laser Peel (AKA the Hollywood Facial!) with the team at GLO Antiaging Treatment Bar. They have an amazing team of specialists who have been putting together a custom treatment and product plan for me. Their philosophy is not one size fits all, they really focus on creating a custom routine for your lifestyle and skin type to help maintain optimal skin health, prevent future damage and reverse the signs of aging.
One treatment that I finally explored that I’ve been thinking about for awhile: tear trough filler! In recent months I’ve noticed that my dark circles and under eye hollows were starting to look a little more tired even after a good night’s rest. I chatted with the team at GLO about my concerns. I was a little worried about trying filler, and if there would be any bruising and swelling, but they assured me that Redensity II Dermal filler treatment would help rejuvenate my tired eyes, dark circles and under eye hollows.
They recommended Teosyal Redensity II, which is the first injectable filler of its kind that has been developed specifically for the tear trough area to address fine lines, dark circles, and deep hollows under the eyes. It combines hyaluronic acid and a dermo-restructing complex of vitamins and amino acids, antioxidants and minerals that continue to rejuvenate the skin over time for maximum long-term results. The effects are immediate and last about 9 months to 1 year.

And after a follow-up, the results were amazing!
My RN Christy at GLO told me she used a layered approach; in the first visit she treated the area with a firmer Restylane filler to provide structure and then the second treatment she added the Redensity II. They recommend coming back after a couple weeks to allow the product to settle, and as it settles it will continue to improve.
I also tried microneedling! I was also a little nervous about the after effects of this one, but GLO actually educated me that it’s one of the most effective treatments for anti-aging with pretty much zero downtime after. They used the e-Dermastamp, also called Collagen Induction Therapy. It’s a heavy hitter for stimulating collagen production. The e-Dermastamp uses powerful medical grade technology to harness the skin’s natural healing capabilities to combat the aging process and efficiently restore your healthy, youthful GLO.
Microneedling or CIT is derived from the ancient practice of acupuncture and mesotherapy. During the treatment the e-Dermastamp creates controlled micro channels deep within the epidermis and dermis. The micro-wounds stimulate and encourage the body to release platelets and growth factors, triggering the natural healing process. The body responds by producing more collagen and elastin which generate new skin cells, thus improving the integrity of the skin resulting in stronger, thicker, softer, plumper, and firmer skin.
I also left with some more of my key antiaging skincare products that the team at GLO has been recommending for me. I topped up on my retinol for collagen production (Skintx Retinol SR Complex), Vitamin C (Skinceuticals Phloretin CF) to help with fine lines, uneven tone and protect from free radicals, and the sunscreen I've been loving, the ZO Sunscreen primer. I’ve been using this like crazy over the summer months. It uses DNA repair enzymes to enhance skin’s recovery capabilities, it contains vitamin A,C,E and DNA repairing enzymes, and it’s lightweight to add moisture while also working as a “pollution shield.”
