Giddy up! What I’m wearing this Stampede
It’s my most favourite time of year: STAMPEDE! One of the best parts is getting dressed up! When it comes to what I’m going to wear, I usually leave it to the last minute. Of course, there are some old standbys in my closet that I go back to every year, but I love to add a few fun new pieces. This year, it’s been so busy with work, my golf tournament and the long weekend, so I ordered some pieces from a great online boutique, Closet NV. They carry a curated collection of pieces from brands I love like Fidelity Denim, graphic and basic tees and this distressed vintage tee I’ve been wearing a lot on weekends.
Stampede Staple 1: Denim
Duh, this one is easy. I like to have a bit more fun with my denim during Stampede than I normally would wear. I love these Fidelity mid-rise distressed jeans, especially the raw hem. I’d wear these with my Poppy Barley booties. When it’s time to kick it up, these 7 For All Mankind Daisy Shorts are SO cute.
Stampede Staple 2: Accessories
Without wearing anything too Western-inspired, I like to add little touches of turquoise and beads that I can wear to daytime Stampede activities and then off to Cowboys at night. Closet NV has lots of cute bracelets and necklaces to layer during Stampede, like these Shashi Carlita Chain Slide bracelets, they even have a tiny bit of fringe on them to make them perfect for Stampede. I also love this Charlene K Triangle Arrow bracelet. It’s a bit of a splurge because it’s 14k gold, but it’s something I’ll wear all year.
Stampede Staple 3: Top it off
I don’t love investing in pieces that I only wear once, so when I shop for Stampede I make sure I can wear the pieces into the rest of summer. I love the stud detail on this Splatter Stud Destroy Tank, it’s just a little country but I can still wear it throughout the rest of the summer without it looking costume-y. I also like the idea of adding a touch of fun with this ‘Crazy’ graphic tee, I would wear a denim shirt open over it or tie it around my waist.
I’m so excited for all the fun Stampede has to bring! I have some fun activities planned with the boys and a couple fun nights out, too. Stay tuned to see all the action!
