Spin With Me in April in Support of Janus Academy

April is Autism Awareness Month. Between volunteering and fundraising, I do my best to contribute to autism awareness every month. But each year in April, I try to do something extra special to give back.
This April, I’m hosting a spin ride at 4 different studios across Calgary to raise funds for an incredibly special place: the Janus Academy. The Janus Academy is an accredited, independent, non profit school in Calgary for school-aged children with autism. They currently have 57 students from grades 1-12, with a group of dedicated educators and therapists working in a 1:1 teaching environment. Their mission is to maximize the potential of each child with autism by enabling academic success and facilitating lifelong community integration.
My close friend has a daughter who attends Janus Academy. It’s an amazing place, with programs driven by unbelievably dedicated instructors and behavioural therapists. I’ve been so fortunate to have lots of resources, and I will be forever grateful for the support Ryder and our family has received. I want to pay that forward to others who need it. The Janus Academy programs need more support, which brought me to my idea to raise some much needed funds through a fun, high-energy series of spin classes across all of my favourite studios in Calgary.
I’ve seen over and over again how amazingly generous Calgary is, and I can’t wait to sweat it out with all my fellow spin addicts to support the Janus Academy. I’ll be right there on the bike next to you, sweating it out and maybe even jumping on the mic to keep you moving :) Each class will be a minimum $25 per person donation, with the option for extra donation! The full schedule is below, and you can sign up via each studio’s website or MindBody! I really hope to see you there!
